Prairie Dogs Drop Both Games on Opening Weekend

SASKATOON, SK - The Prairie Dogs fell flat in their second game at the Bridge City Brawl on Opening Weekend in Saskatoon. Regina got ahead early and cruised to a 9-5 win over Prince Albert.

The Regina Southern Comfort came out flying in the first. SoCo would find the back of the net twice before Kallen Currie scored for the Prairie Dogs to make it 2-1. Regina would score twice more in the final 2 minutes of the quarter to take a 4-1 lead after the first.

Regina would score 3 more in the second to go up 7-1. Ethan Kennedy got his second of the weekend to make it 7-2 with 3 minutes left to go in the quarter. Regina would take that 7-2 lead into half-time.

Regina would score 1 in the third and PA would get goals from Tanner Vancoughnett and Brody Holizki to bring the score to 8-4 after 3 quarters.

Brendin Currie picked up his first goal on the season early in the final quarter to make it 8-5. Regina would add another late in the game and would take this one 9-5.

The Prairie Dogs will be back in action next weekend in Prince Albert for the Face-Off in the Sticks Festival. PA will take on the Plainsmen at 10:00 am at Max Clunie Field before playing Sturgis and Moose Jaw later in the day.
